Last-Minute Handmade Holiday Gifts

Scrambling to check off all the holiday gifts on your list? Sometimes a handmade knit or crochet gift is the perfect solution for those individuals who are hard to shop for. Plus, something handmade feels so much more authentic and personal than a store-bought item. Many of these gifts take only a few hours to make – you’ve got plenty of time!

Here is a run-down of some of our favorite patterns for last-minute gifting this year:

Grab some leftover bits of worsted weight yarn to make a Holiday Ornament Pincushion – felted and then embellished however you like. The pattern suggests Nature Spun, but any wool yarn would work perfectly. This would make an adorable pincushion or addition to someone’s tree décor.

Handmade ornaments are a special gift than can be enjoyed year after year. Try the Northwind Mini Hat and Stocking for a quick knit in a lightweight yarn. Our Nature Spun Fingering or Wildfoote Sock Yarn would work well.

A cup cozy is a cute and simple gift for the coffee lover in your life – throw in a gift card to their favorite coffee shop, and your gift is complete! The Koselig Cabled Cup Cozy is knit with Lamb’s Pride or any worsted weight yarn.

A quick, bulky hat is a perfect gift for just about any age – guys or gals. The Ribbed Beanie is made with Lanaloft Bulky and size 17 needles, so you know it’s going to knit up very quickly!

Burly Spun is our thickest super-bulky yarn – so it’s the absolute quickest to knit up. Try the Burly Slouch and Infinity Scarf for some wonderfully cozy and warm accessories. The pattern includes baby, toddler, child and adult sizes.

Brick by Brick is another quick-knitting hat with lots of texture and warmth. The pattern calls for Lamb’s Pride Bulky – you know you have some in your stash!

For our crocheters – you can make a cute headband in no time! We love the Peppermint Bandit headband crocheted with two colors of Lamb’s Pride Bulky. This band is festive and looks nice and stretchy to stay in place.

From our family to yours, we wish you peace and joy this holiday season. We hope that yarn and your favorite handcrafts have been a source of comfort throughout this challenging year, and we’re very thankful to be able to continue producing the yarns you love!
