Join the New Rose Frost Sweater Winter Knit Along!
This January Brown Sheep will reveal a new, free colorwork sweater from designer Sophia Minakais: the Rose Frost Sweater. We’re so excited about this new design, we wanted to celebrate it with a winter sweater knit along!
The Rose Frost Sweater
The Rose Frost Sweater is knit with Lamb’s Pride in 4 colors for maximum impact. Knitters can also choose to knit the sweater with just two colors, or three colors. With 80+ colors of Lamb’s Pride available, the combinations feel truly endless. We can’t wait to see all of the different versions knitters make!
The Rose Frost Sweater is a great pattern for beginners to colorwork knitting. The sweater features a circular-yoke colorwork design knit from the top down with snowy speckles throughout. The pattern is suitable for beginners with some sweater knitting experience, and would be a perfect introduction too two-stranded knitting. Anyone who loves Lamb’s Pride will enjoy knitting this frosty addition to their winter wardrobe!
Colors and Kits
Sophia has graciously included pattern charts for 5 different color palettes to match the Lamb’s Pride kits we made for the knit along.
Sophia has also supplied approximate yardages so that our mohair sensitive knitters can substitute Lanaloft if they want. Here are the approximate yardages:
MC: (645, 725, 800) (870, 935, 1000) yds
CC1: (185, 210, 230) (250, 270, 285) yds
CC2: (55, 60, 65) (70, 75, 80) yds
CC3: (30, 35, 35) (40, 40, 45) yds
Knitters can use the code “RoseFrost” to take 10% off the kits and orders of Lamb’s Pride and Lanaloft to build their own color kits.
The code is good until the knit along launches on January 7!

- Yarn: Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride, 113g/190 yds per skein. MC: (4, 4, 5) (5, 5, 6); CC1: (1, 2, 2) (2, 2 , 2); CC2: (1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 1); CC3: (1, 1, 1) (1, 1, 1)
- Sizes: (36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56) inches to fit actual bust circumference of (33, 37, 41) (45, 49, 53) inches
- Needles: US size 7 circular and DPNs (or needle size needed to obtain gauge)
- Gauge: 4.5 sts and 5 rows per inch (stockinette)
Note on selecting your size: The sweater is recommended to be worn with about 3 inches positive ease.
Details About the Knit Along
The Rose Frost Sweater Knit Along will start on January 7, 2025. Knitters must sign up for the knit along to receive the free pattern. The full Rose Frost Sweater pattern will release in an email to all registered knitters on January 7.
Knitters must join the Brown Sheep Company Crafters group on Facebook and post a photo of their finished sweater to the group with the hashtag #RoseFrostKAL to be eligible for the knit along prizes. Participants are encouraged to post photos of their finished sweater with #RoseFrostKAL on Instagram and Facebook for additional entries.
