Let’s dive in!
Hats & Matching Sets
Wrap It! Hat & Mitts
The Wrap It! Hat & Mitts are a new, FREE pattern designed by Mone Dräger for Brown Sheep Co. The matching set only requires 3 skeins of Lanaloft Sport (2 for the hat, 1 for the mitts) to complete and features a fun wrapped rib design. This pattern will only be available for free for a limited time, so don’t wait to download it while you can! All you have to do to receive the pattern is register for our newsletter here (or confirm your registration if you’re already signed up).
Inis Mor Hat & Scarf
We published the Inis Mor Hat & Scarf (another free set!) earlier this year. It features Harborside Aran, our new aran weight wool inspired by the Aran Islands (read more about it here). Designed by Laurie Alkire, Harborside Aran features a delightful combination of classic cables and ribbing for an ultra warm, squishy hat and scarf. The Inis Mor set is another FREE download—just register for our newsletter or confirm your registration!
Norah Hat
The Norah Hat is knit with fan-favorite Lamb’s Pride Worsted, using approximately one skein for hte background color and a smaller amount of contrasting color for the fetching leaf design. We love the unisex appeal of this hat, and the fact that you can probably stash dive and stash bust your Lamb’s Pride scraps for the colorwork!
Scarves/Cowls
Dickie Scarf
The Dickie Cowl is knit with Lamb’s Pride Bulky in a very basic garter and rib design. We love this cowl because it doesn’t add a lot of bulk to your outfit, but covers up all the areas where the cold tends to sneak in. You’ll only need one skein of Lamb’s Pride Bulky to knit the Dickie Cowl, and it’s pretty easy to finish in an evening or two!
Not Sorry
We are not sorry to include the Not Sorry Shawl on our list of last-minute gifts this year! Pick up just 2 skeins of Lamb’s Pride Bulky or Nature Spun Chunky to knit this lightly textured, classic triangle shawl. This the kind of accessory that goes with everyone and never falls out of style—you might need to just make it for yourself this year!
Pistachio Ice Cream Cowl
The Pistachio Ice Cream Cowl is crocheted with two skeins of Lamb’s Pride Bulky in a faux rib, which lends it a delightfully squishy texture. It’s another fast gift to craft this season, and it’s an easy, unisex accessory to style and wear.
Hands
Retreat Mitts
The Retreat Mitts offer another great, quick knit in two colors of Lamb’s Pride. Most Brown Sheep Co. crafters have at least two single skeins of Lamb’s Pride in their stash—this is the perfect pattern for a stash dive! A beguiling cable design creates an ultra warm and attractive texture, and the stripes add lots of visual interest.
Any Which Way Wristers
Don’t be fooled by the knit-alike Any Which Way Wristers—these are actually crocheted! Another stash buster contender in Lamb’s Pride Worsted, the Any Which Way Wristers are incredibly versatile. They’re designed for ANY gauge and are fully adjustable, so feel free to sub in a different Brown Sheep Co. yarn in your stash!
Home & Tiny Gifts
Succulent Coaster Set
We are in love with SweaterBabe’s Succulent Coaster Set. It’s an ingenious design, executed perfectly. The little crocheted lace coasters and smiling amigurumi-like pot that holds them scream “gift me!” She suggests a DK-weight yarn like Cotton Fleece, and you only need about 20 yards for each coaster. Another great stash buster!
Snowflake
Yes, you are looking at a single crocheted Snowflake. How is this a last-minute gift, you wonder? Well, think of the possibilities. Crochet a dozen strung together on i-cord as a garland for someone’s window or Christmas tree. Crochet several individual snowflakes and attach them to gift bottles of wine, or tie them as a finishing touch on presents. Simply attach a length of yarn and present your snowflake as an ornament. There are lots of things you can do with a little Snowflake crocheted with Nature Spun Sport—you just need a little imagination!
Balsam and Lavender Sachets
The Lavender and Balsam Sachets are such an elegant gift for any time of year. Designed for Stratosphere, consider all the ways these can be gifted. Use them as intended to create a special scented sachet, but include it in a gift piece of clothing as a nice finishing touch. Or, enclose a special bar of soap, or a selection of specialty teas inside your knit sachets. These little sachets could hold a piece of jewelry, a gift card (we have gift cards!), or a special skein of yarn.
Garden Wall
We’re ending as we began, with another new, FREE pattern! The Garden Wall blanket was designed to spotlight Brown Sheep’s limited edition, special spin Lamb’s Pride Quartet yarn. A lap blanket absolutely qualifies as a last-minute gift when it’s knit with a super bulky yarn on size 19 needles! Designed to look like a garden wall with trailing vines and flowers, the knitting itself is a simple, straightforward mix of stockinette and garter. A special visible seam in a dark green creates climbing vines between strips of checkerboard blocks, and basic embroidery stitches form flowers and leaves in Nature Spun Chunky. Register or confirm your registration for the Brown Sheep newsletter to receive the free pattern!
