Looking Back at the Imaging Shawl

Post placeholder image

The 2025 Brown Sheep Shawl Mystery Knit Along finished on June 10! We chose two winners—Susan Silverman and Eva Pischnotte McGuigan—who knit gorgeous versions of the Imaging Shawl by Aud Bergo:

We want to thank all of the knitters who participated in this year’s MKAL, both on our social channels and in the Brown Sheep Company Crafters group on Facebook. Knitters chose 3 colors of Prairie Spun DK; as always, it was very exciting to see all of the different color combinations knitters chose for their unique shawls.

We created 4 color kits for the Imaging Shawl. Our winners uses Sunflower Symphony and Tahitian Pearls for their shawls (shown below and above).

We selected each of the above kits (still available for a limited time here!) to maximize the colorwork in the Imaging Shawl. You can read more about our color choices and see more of the alternates we chose to inspire knitters here.

Let’s take a look at this year’s participants!

Clue 1

Clue 1 introduced knitters to the basic elements of the Imaging Shawl: garter stripes, solid stockinette, and leaning lace sections.

Clue 2

Clue 2 of the Imaging Shawl continued the pattern as set, introducing that the lace leaning sections would alternate between left and right.

Clue 3

Clue 3 introduced the largest section of the shawl. This middle section combined the lace leaning pattern to create a wavering lace.

Clue 4

Clue 4 finished the Imaging Shawl with all 3 colors featured in garter and stockinette stripes.

We hope all of our knitters enjoyed this year’s mystery knit along! Aud Bergo’s Imaging Shawl is a fun colorwork shawl suitable for beginner to advanced knitters. And it’s still available to download for a limited time!
