Made in America: Why You Should Knit Your 30 Day Sweater with Brown Sheep Yarns

The Brown Sheep company is a tried and true American success story. Theirs is a story of a 100 year old ranch and a sheep farmer that came upon hard times. That farmer sought out other avenues to make his farm work for him and before too long decided to spin his wool into yarn. After procuring mill equipment he put it all together (without instructions) and in a few months time taught himself to create yarn. The story doesn’t end there, he then drove around and peddled yarn until he his yarn business was successful. Now the “little mill that could” has grown to include 15 yarn lines and an incredible array of colors.

For many knitters, knitting a sweater seems like a huge challenge to face. But we believe you can do it and that this sweater is going to be your next success story. As you knit a sweater that is unique to yourself and you choose the details you want include like pockets, hoods or that special bind off you love, it is no longer just another project, it is an extension of your personality. You can make your sweater as unique as yourself.

What better way to knit a sweater than with a yarn that works as hard as you do? A great yarn to knit your 30 day sweater with is Brown Sheep’s, Lamb’s Pride. This line is made with 15% mohair and 23 to 25 micron wool from Colorado which makes it extra soft. This is an extremely versatile yarn that lends itself well to knit garments.  Because the fibers are grown and milled in America, this yarn has been the anchor of Brown Sheep Company for the last 30 years.

So why should you knit your 30 day sweater with Brown Sheep yarns? Because when you seek out American-made goods, you foster American Independence.
